Original Bios 12/13/2019:

Introducing Exa Byte (Tera Byte & Exabyte's pictures/names got mixed up during her initial bio/adoption) This is the upgrade you've been waiting for. She is the latest middle in purr. She is equipped to handle dog, cat and nice kids she has a special kiss you face interface feature. She has a get up and go speed featuring climbing cat trees, hide and seek and chance the toy. Once picked up she can be held on her lap for further pet game. She will need a cuddle extension pack installed but it will not take long for a system up grade. Are you ready for the next level of kitten? If so Exa is you kitty.

Patches is so fun! He is playful and sweet. Patches just adores our boxer, often sitting/snuggling with the dog. Snuggling is his specialty! He was fostered in a busy home and would do well with children and friendly dogs.

CURRENT 3/21/2020

TeraByte and Patches have had a rough start to their lives. I don't know how they ended up in foster in the first place, but they were adopted together in December 2019. Their happy ending was cut short when they were re-homed through social media and then ended up at the shelter. Luckily, the shelter scanned their microchips and they were returned to IBR with the hopes of finding a new home.... again.

But the stress of their tumultuous life was too much and both cats got sick. I was asked to pick them up from the adoption center on 3/1/2020 and provide them a week of antibiotics.

When they arrived, they were very stressed and unfriendly. Both hissed every time I approached. It didn't help that many of my approaches were accompanied by medicines. The first round of meds didn't help; Patches was SO sick. He was sneezing so hard he was drooling and my mentor advised me to take him into the vet. A second, longer round of a stronger antibiotic was prescribed.

Patches got better but TeraByte took a turn and had massive eye discharge, so we had a round of eye meds. But during the last few days of their treatments, when they started to feel better, they began to show us their true personalities.

These kittens LIVED for the moments we spent in their isolation room. They'd run up to the sliding glass door when we approached, reaching towards us through the glass. For the first several minutes, they'd run circles around us in excitement. But eventually they'd calm enough to do what they really wanted to do, and that is snuggle. It was always rough to leave them.

A few days ago they were finally healthy enough to come out of the isolation room. They fit right in. TeraByte hissed a bit when my pushy kitten harrassed her, but mostly they got along with everyone. They ignored the dogs, and the dogs ignored them. They were SO happy to be free!!

Patches is a little derpy. He loves my hubby's hair, for some reason. He also loves face hugs and kisses, but he'll give those to either of us.

Both kittens discovered the bedroom on the very first night and have slept with us every night. Well, to be fair, we haven't slept very well with Patches purring incessantly in our ear for hours on end. Can't blame him- he's such a social kitten and he spent so long in isolation.

They love the bedroom. They love any room we are in. TeraByte is currently draped across my arms doing his best to type his own blog. He's sure you'd rather read "adsfsssfasd" and "klj;ljkl"

I think these two are ready for their true forever home, and I really hope they can get adopted despite the Corona Virus shelter in place.

Update 3/26/20

If their original adopter wanted a quiet home and personal space, then I have figured out why these two sweet kids to returned. They have NO respect for personal space at all. They think the shelter in place is the best thing ever.

The blob under them in these pictures is my lap. Trying to work here! They do NOT care.

But for the true cat person who thinks that everything cats do is adorable, how could you pass this up??

Updated 4/2/2020

A family came to meet Terabyte and Patches, to see if one of them would be a good fit for their house. Although the virus shut down the adoption center, we are able to move forward with adoptions through private meets. This allowed me to actually get to meet the family that has now decided to adopt BOTH Of them!! One of the silver linings of the virus- I feel so good about this adoption. 25 successful fosters so far, but I only know what's happening with 6 of them, and one is MINE! After meeting this family personally, I am hopeful that they'll keep in touch.

Particularly because they've already asked to come back to visit one of my current baby fosters- considering a possible 3rd adoption. My heart is so happy!

Updated 5/5/2020

The new parents were so happy to pick them up! I loved being part of the adoption so I could send them home with some toys.

No new names yet, but they're thinking of food names- which I love sooooo much!! I have so many food named cats, because food is love in my world. I got some pictures of them in their new home.

Update 4/9/20

They're considering naming them Sierra and Nevada, which is cute! Terabyte's eye gunk came back, which I expected since she is so easily stressed out, but we got some eye meds to help her out.
