Sparkler, now Spice, 9/22/19 ADOPTED (updated 12/25/19)

You already love me!

Calicos are my favorite kittens and it is going to be hard to not foster fail this sweet girl. One of my favorite nieces named her when she came over and fell in love with her bright orange spots and friendly personality.

Sparkler seems to recognize her calico sisters and will follow my 1 year old Katsu Kurry and 3 year old Mochi around whenever they visit in the kitten area. The other 2 household calicos are keeping their distance, but I'm anticipating that Sparkler will seek them out when she is big enough to run more freely in the house.

Update 8/15/19

Sparkler is the most photogenic kitten I have fostered so far. She has succeeded in making both Mochi and Katsu her friends. Katsu is becoming a very good foster mom and Sparkler makes sure she gets more than her fair share of grooming. She's a good eater and her belly is always full and around- she's the chunkiest of the bunch.

Some parents may discourage this behavior, but I love cats that get in my face and give kisses, even when it feels weird!

8/25/19 Update

If I could keep more kittens, I'd keep this one for my other calicos who love her so much. I hope she'll find another calico family in her forever home.

The other kittens are still not interested in catnip, but Sparkler rolled in it when our 4 year old visitor poured it on the hammock and on her head!

Update 9/9/19

Sparkler was initially more interested in my household calicos and exploration than in human interaction. But in the last week, she's started to seek me out for play and cuddles! Her fur went from regular soft kitten fur to luxuriously smooth. She is one of the most playful kittens, constantly seeking out playmates or popping out if she hears me swishing around toys.

9/17/19 Update

I'm just not sure what Katsu will do when Sparkler leaves. She likes all the kittens, but loves her mini Calico buddy the most.

Calicos are my favorite!!

9/22/19 UPDATE

The hubby lets me keep the kittens in the bedroom the last two nights they're with us. Sparkler woke me up around 3am with demands for attention and a loud purr. We made a bet that she'd be the first one adopted from the bunch, because she is so sweet and also gorgeous. We weren't far off!

We dropped them off early because we were taking my father to the movies. But my parents wanted us to pick up lunch from a restaurant in the same parking lot so I sprinted over to see them while we waited for the food to be prepared. Two young ladies were looking at kittens while the adoption team got set up, and I was happy to answer their questions. It didn't surprise me that they wanted to know about Sparkler! But they were looking for a really mellow, laid back kitten. I explained that Sparkler would cuddle at sleep time, but was the most active of the bunch. As much as I want my babies to get adopted- it's best if they really match their future household so I had to be honest.

Sometimes they post updates during the day- but that Saturday we didn't get adoption updates until the adoption event was over. I was thrilled to see Sparkler's name on the list!

If you're Sparkler's new adoptive family, I'd LOVE updates on this sweet girl! kitteeohana@gmail.com

Update 12/25/19

I really thought I updated this last month, but it's been really crazy. Sparkler is now Spice, and she has grown up to be just a gorgeous kitten. Her new family loves her and I'm so happy to get these pics (and permission to post them!)
