Souffle is the most gentle, delicate kitten I've fostered. She will wait patiently to nibble at her food and never, ever bites my finger. All the other kittens are complete chow hounds!
She was pretty scared when she arrived, hissing and cowering in the back of the kennel until you pulled her out and held her close. Souffle is a gentle fluff ball.
Souffle and her siblings smelled awful when they arrived, but she was was so good during bathtime! Souffle was an adorable purritto. She stayed wrapped up for over an hour!
Cuddles, warmth, and fuzzy blankets won her over. Ok, maybe the extra kitten treats helped too. Whatever it was, Souffle started to trust. After treats, she'd curl up on my leg until I was begging her to move so I could stretch or go potty. It was hard to get a picture of her in the little kitten cave she snuggled into one freezing morning- but she's so cute, it doesn't matter much that I have terrible photography skills.
Souffle was the first kitten to make friends with the older fosters and house kittens (besides Katsu, who loves EVERY kitten).
Getting hives and taking a half day off work was worth it. I curled up in a blanket and had kittens rampage around me. PURE JOY, despite the itchiness.
Update 12/13/19
Souffle had many admirers when I first posted her blog, but my friend Ryley contacted me immediately and never wavered in her interest. It probably helped that I sent her tons of extra photos and videos.
Though she lived out of town, she arranged to come over. I knew Souffle had found her home. Ryley wanted to call her Ophelia, so we spent the next week trying to call her Ophelia. Normally... we'd end up calling her Sophelia!
Can you just feel the love here?!
It seemed like knowing that she was loved and adored made Ophelia more confident. She became a very noisy, demanding young lady. Ophelia always reminded me of dinner time and was no longer shy about demanding attention. She liked attention from humans, cats... and sometimes even the pups (this was the night she came home from surgery, so ignore the surgery stains on her belly).
Ophelia was picked up a few days ago, and her mom could not be happier. I'm so happy for her!!
Ryley is the perfect adoptive mom. I have received photos and videos (which my stupid phone will NOT let me download... it's probably user error, but I like to blame it on technology) every day!! I absolutely LOVE the updates.

BONUS! As I was updating blogs, Ophelia's mommy sent even more pictures and videos!
This... I watched this video on loop at least a dozen times in a row... can anyone watch this just once? It's sooo cute... I think not!

Ophelia is such a spoiled kitten!! I love love love love getting all the updates from her mommy. I am stunned every time when I see how big she is getting.
Her mommy is teaching her how to sit. I knew when I saw it I had to step up my kitten game! Toasty is now on a "learn to sit" protocol too. He has to catch up with his mommy.
This might be my favorite thing ever. Her mommy said she does this every night.

Ophelia has lived her best life as the center of her mommies world. I was beyond thrilled to get these adoption anniversary pictures. She's not just a beauty queen either- Ophelia knows several tricks, including "sit", "wait", and "pose for a gorgeous photo shoot"
