Snack Time! Update 7/20/19

Variety pack of kitten group shots!

Butterscotch, Popcorn, Caramel like the new furniture in their play area.

Caramel uses Cotton Candy as a fluffy pillow... Cotton Candy is, as always, belly up.

Kitten piles... these kittens would love to have other pets around. They're all very pet and people social.

Update 6/30/19: The kittens love to hang out and pile up in their kitten hammock. It's a double hammock and sometimes there are more in the bottom level, but it's hard to get a good picture of them there.

Butterscotch and Cotton Candy often seek each other out for snuggles

I've learned to cover myself with a blanket, hoodie, or robe. These kittens are climbers!

Update 7/7/19

The kittens are big enough and calm enough around the pups to have excursions to the bedroom. They've enjoyed the new space to explore over the past few days and have been so good about using the bedroom litterbox with no accidents in this unfamiliar environment. I was quite surprised when all 5 of them quickly learned to climb up our hip high platform bed in the first 30 minutes.

I absolutely love that when they get tired from playing and exploring, almost all of them will climb up to snuggle in with me or on me. They're all learning to come when called as well. I'm going to have to remember to take a video of me calling them during playtime to try to capture the amazing sight of 5 kitten faces sprinting or bounding towards me on the bed.

And here, just because I think I'm addicted of taking pictures of kitten bellies and sleepy kitten faces

7/14/19 Update

Butterscotch and Cotton Candy continue to seek each other out. They're not exclusive, but they're often paired up. It's funny to see their size difference when they cuddle.

Got a cat hammock. Great investment.

Visitors!! A family came to meet the kittens to pick one to adopt... they chose Popcorn. I was concentrating on sharing all of the wonderful quirks of the kittens and didn't get many pictures, but managed a few when the kittens started getting sleepy.

Started giving the kittens the full run of the house when we're home. They are quite the explorers and managed to get up to the higher places that I thought would be kitten free, including finding the adult kitten food spot on top of a dresser. They also love laying in the upside down chairs perched on the front room table... a favorite hangout of my adult cats.

We had family over to play dungeons and dragons. I got up out of my seat to get some snacks, then ended up standing for the rest of the campaign. These kittens were so happy to have a house full of guests- they're almost always in the same room as the people. I caught most of the players staring at the kittens a lot. At one point, Scotchmallow and Caramel were wrestling and fell asleep mid bite... I had to pry Caramel's ear out of a snoozing kitten mouth.

Update 7/18/19

These kittens are very social and have loved every time I've had visitors come over. I tend to live in the moment when I have company and keep my phone put away, so I forget to take pictures a lot or I'm not fast enough to get pictures. Company makes them hyper, usually. They like to play and climb new people. If the visit is long enough, they do enjoy snuggles.

The boys all went to get fixed yesterday. Butterscotch seemed a little lost without her brothers. A lot less play time than normal. I thought she'd be excited to see them when they got home, but she took a sniff of their surgery smells and told us all, very decisively, that she did NOT like this. For a small thing, she has a very big growl. Fortunately, the boys were pretty lethargic and didn't bother her. Most staggered around like drunks and face planted in exhaustion most of the night. Caramel seemed the least affected and stalked a fly. He didn't jump at it as much as typical, but he batted at it a few times and generally knew where it was.

Unfortunately, they still smelled in the morning and they were HYPER. Cotton Candy seemed to enjoy the new noises that accompanied their play time and chased her around the house happily as she growled and yowled at him. She finally calmed down when I managed to snag her and give her 15 minutes of alone time with mom. Things seem to be back to normal now, as they bound around my feet as I write this blog.
