Mjolnir (MewMew), ADOPTED, updated 8/30/2020

MewMew awake, but still... a rare event!

I have a special weakness for calicos. Though white based calicos are my favorite, something about the tri-color with bright orange spots makes my heart melt EVERY TIME. MewMew stood out from her siblings immediately with her vivid colors. It did not take long for her vivid personality to emerge as well. MewMew and her siblings hissed and hid from us when we picked her up. But MewMew was the first to realize that my hands brought the tasty treats, never hurt her, and were always gentle. It didn't take long for MewMew to learn trust. My favorite moment was on the second day when she crawled into the crook of my neck, purring and nuzzling in, then started nursing on my ear. I like to believe she loves me the most, but she is pretty accepting of all our guests. She will often come when called and loves to lay on my feet or near my head when we're watching movies in bed.

When the Spice litter invaded the kitten room where the MCU Power Pack were supposed to be isolated, MewMew was also the first to accept her new playmates.

She is very active, even when she's "at rest". For every nearly focused picture of MewMew I can post, I have probably deleted at least 2 orangy-black blurs.

MewMew's personality can be nearly summed up with the following scene. I had all the kennel doors open while I was cleaning and sanitizing the kennel. After spraying it with a pet safe cleaner and wiping it down, I like to let it air out a bit then follow up by wiping the residue off with water. In the few moments it was open and I was busy changing all the sheets covering the different pet beds, MewMew decided she was thirsty and COULD NOT WAIT for me to close the kennel back up. I was so glad to capture at least a few pictures of her when I turned back around and caught this moment. Fearless, acrobatic, determined, and entirely entertaining... that's little MewMew.

Update 8/3/2020

Little Mewmew loves to be with people and is rarely far when we're home. She loves her siblings and housecat friends. She loves guests. She loves climbing. She LOVES treats. She loves cuddles. She loves life!

Mewmew went on a home visit to a fellow foster to meet their timid housecat, Rory. Rory started to gain some confidence when 2 foster kittens were living with him- or his interest in them brought him out from under the bed more often. He seemed to miss them when they left, and his mom thought Mewmew might be a good match for him. Mewmew was a well-mannered guest. She was not deterred by his hissing, but gave him some space. She'd ask him if he was ready for a chat, and when he'd say "no thank you" she'd wander off to explore or play. He was fascinated with her and could not stay away. He shocked his parents by coming all the way down the hall and accepting treats directly from my hand, and I think it helped him to see that Mewmew had absolutely NO FEAR of me, or anyone. By the time she left, Mewmew made sure she got attention from everyone, played with all the toys, and ate all the offered treats. She fell asleep, content, on the way home. I'm hoping they'll decide she is the right fit for Rory!

Wherever she goes, she'll need to have cat friends. Paprika of the spice litter came back for a kitten playdate. Mewmew was thrilled to see her old friend again. After some vigorous playing, they curled up for one of the most adorable cuddle sessions I've seen. Mewmew did not want to let her friend go.
