MCU Power Pack, updated 8/3/2020

Getting ready for their epic adventures!

I picked up this second litter while the Spice litter was still in my home. 3 all black kittens (2 girls and 1 boy) and one distinct black calico (girl) to join the 3 orange tabby kittens (2 boys and 1 girl) and one distinct gray/brown kitten (boy). My brain boggled over another set of triplets! It was tricky to even see them huddled in fear in the back of their crates in a pile of quivering black fur.

They hissed and shrank away from us, but they were very passive. Never once did they try to bite or scratch us; if pet or held, they'd freeze and submit.

The first day, they were too scared to play.

The power pack was supposed to have 2 weeks in isolation. I enjoyed the quiet times with them in the kitten room, waiting quietly until they were bold enough to come and join me. Mj0lnir was the boldest, followed by Jarvis. They stopped hissing and started approaching within the first 36 hours. Tesseract would often come out, but hiss and run away at any signs of movement. Yggdrasil was the most timid, spending all her time hiding. They were all good eaters and quickly learned that gentle petting during their food time was not worrisome. But the tipping point was around a week and a half when the Spices decided quarantine was for losers and they started jumping over the gate in rapid succession. If I took one out, two more would jump in. Eventually, I would build an entirely new gate system, then replace it with yet another gate system, then finally my current gate system (which worked like a charm for 2 days until they managed to get through that too)... but before all of the gate failures, I pretty much gave up separating them.

Both litters were very happy to interact, and the social Spices helped the shy power pack understand that humans were friends.

At first they only slept together, but as they grew more confident, they began playing.

They met some visiting children, and were so tolerant with their rather aggressive love. They were happy with the plethora of treats they received.

Update 8/3/2020

One of my fellow fosters gave me this awesome pet stroller so I can take the foster babies out with the puppies. They're not sure about it yet... and being all black you can barely see them... you can make out their friend Pigwidgeon!!

The babies, as many rescue kittens do, had some upper respiratory problems. Jarvis, in particular, was very congested. We did a few days of nebulizer treatments to help them- this noisy little machine that sprays a saline mist. Though it freaked them ALL out at first, the power pack quickly grew accustomed to the noise and focused on their primary objective.... FOOD!
