Magic Allergy Pill!!

Squishy and Jessie (formerly Reeses) adopted their forever family 7/28/19

The joy of this this family and their new furballs was almost crushed when mom Amy began having severe allergy and asthma attacks. She battled her symptoms for nearly a month before contacting the kitten's former foster mom, asking about a magic pill or something that would allow her to keep her fur babies. But her foster mom didn't know any solution and they arranged for Amy to meet her at Petsmart to return the kittens for the Clear the Shelter event. Amy, wanting the best for the kittens she didn't think she could keep, wanted them to have the best chance to find a new home.

But chance brought Laurie, the foster mom, to Petsmart while I was there helping clean up kennels to prepare for the big event. Laurie squeezed into the back room and to lend a helping hand while she waited for Amy, Squishy, and Jessie (Reeses) to arrive. When she mentioned to me that Amy had begged for a "magic pill", I sheepishly shared that I might have a magic pill.

I have never wanted to be THAT lady... the sales woman who tries to convince everyone that their product is amazing. I was actually a skeptic. I had heard about essential oils in several professional trainings (as a special educator learning about treatment options for things like ADHD and Autism), but still I didn't really believe they could work. But I won a free bottle at an exercise class, so I met with a doTerra Wellness Advocate, Alisha Trask, who assured me that oils could help me.

I suffer from Lupus and allergies and lived with 24/7 itchiness and hives for approximately 9 years. I was always tired, from scratching myself in my sleep and would wake up with blood and scabs everywhere. I was allergic to almost all of the topical creams the doctors tried to prescribe me. The only thing that helped was a "black box" medication that relieved my symptoms, but had one possible side effect of blindness and another, rare but possible side effect of death. I still took it- because it at least got rid of the hives and the scaly leather skin (those pics are on my dead laptop or somewhere I can't find... but it was like sandpaper).

Alisha actually got excited when I told her about my symptoms and misery. She asked to make me a special roller, instead of one of the standard ones she usually gave. A few days later, I got the roller and rolled it on my spine in the morning before leaving for work.

At lunchtime, I caught myself casually scratching my arm, Then I stopped and stared at my arm. I had not scratched myself all morning- nearly 6 hours. It was the first time in 9 years that I had gone more than 10 minutes without scratching something.

DDR Prime was the magic oil Alisha supplied to me, and it was also available in a soft gel. Initially, I took a soft gel in the morning and re-applied the oil throughout the day as often as needed. Now, I only need to take the soft gels unless I go outside (I'm allergic to everything that grows outdoors!) for prolonged time or try to sit in the grass. If I forget to take my soft gels, the itchiness returns- so I don't forget for long!

As a long time cat owner who developed allergies to my cats, I often had more severe hives when I'd spend extra time cuddling them. I'd get red eyes, swelling, and a misery I was willing to suffer for the benefit of snuggles. Now, I can not only shove my face into the bellies of my own cats (I have always built a resistance to my housepets- having severe allergies for the first 3-7 days, then more manageable symptoms unless I went on vacation), but I can foster kittens with NO SYMPTOMS.

We had 8 house cats when I discovered doTerra and often host gatherings at our home. Several of my nieces, nephews, and friends have allergies. They now know where I keep my stash and take a softgel and use the roller while they're here. They're also cat lovers and have enjoyed visiting with my foster kittens, with little to no symptoms.

So, though I was slightly uncomfortable promoting this "magic pill", I also had a very personal and positive experience. So I shared it with Laurie, who then asked me to share it with Amy.

Heartbroken but hopeful, Amy asked to try the oils before giving up her babies. She was already familiar with doTerra and was willing to order it and I offered to give her some of my softgels until her supply came in. I decided to throw in a few sample roller bottles with my recipes for allergy and asthma relief.

The next morning, Amy reported she had not had an allergy attack using the essential oils! Nearly 2 weeks later, Amy, Squishy, and Jessie are confident their home will not be torn apart by allergies or asthma. Now on DDR prime, Amy has not suffered a single attack.

Jessie's beautiful colors seem to shift with the light.
