Halloween Treats 11/3/19

FLOOF ALERT!

I got the call on Halloween while frantically prepping food for my entire school staff the next morning- did I want kittens? WHY, YES I DO!

Seriously, could you say no to these faces? I'm avoiding the expected names like Pumpkin or Jack-o-lantern, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to stop myself from naming them after my favorite treats again.

When I picked them up, they warned me this was a fiesty batch that tried to rip open the hands that pulled them from their crates and kennels as they were transferred from the shelter to the rescue, then when they needed to come out for additional vaccinations and microchipping. I've owned 3-8 cats since I was a pre-teen, so I'm pretty comfortable with claws and I was prepared for battle. They hissed and spit, and cringed away from me, but every one was completely still and mellow when I picked them up.

The orange boy (medium fur) and the calico were hungry and food motivated immediately. The orange floof was not tempted with the chicken we offered the first few nights but did like the pate tube we tried- and now eats everything we present. All three seemed to be comforted by Katsu Kurry, who immediately wanted to meet her new charges.

They came with poopy butts and were rather stinky, so bath time was needed their first weekend. I hope you have anything in your day as joyful as rubbing your face in warm, freshly laundered kitten bellies. This is LOVE.

As I'm writing this blog, they're proving, once again, that this $13 unicorn bed (Ross) is the best investment I've ever made. They're just sitting in my lap. It's hard to get anything done with this level of cuteness happening!
