Churro was rumored to be an attack kitten. I was warned that he and his siblings might be a bit fiesty when I picked them up to bring them into foster care.
I couldn't get my camera out in time to get video proof of this vicious face attack. Purring, giving kitten kisses, and nuzzling into my cheek- yes, I'm terrified. NOT! His purr machine started right up.
He was the last to get his bath and I thought I was in trouble when he started with a piercing yowl. His tiny lungs gave off an impressive yell! But then he settled down and went pretty limp, letting me wash and dry him easily.
Churro doesn't care much for being picked up and held, but he does like to crawl up and perch on my shoulder or back. Sometimes he doesn't make it and slides down- but that's because he doesn't really use his claws to climb up... at least not yet and I hope it stays that way!
Eowyn didn't like the new fosters when they arrived, but Churro convinced her that he wasn't such a bad kitten. I think she almost likes him better than her own brother now, but that could be because he doesn't try to chew on her ears.
Update 12/11/19
Work and my crossfit life have kept me so busy, I haven't been able to update the blog in a long time, and boy do I have updates!! Churro got fixed today, and he is a she!! Maybe that is how she charmed Eomer. Eomer was very disturbed when the kittens arrived, but Churro had no fear of his growling and hissing. Within days, she made him her favorite pillow. He was adopted last weekend, and she's been a little sad without him, but she's been a little extra cuddly to humans!
Churro is laying on my feet as I write this, but in the morning she likes to come over and purr on an available face, arm, or chest.
Once snuggle time is over, Churro wants to play! If she can get toys away from the toy hog, Roxas, she loves feather wands and fishing toys.
Churro is just a sweet thing. She is scheduled to go for adoption this weekend, but I am not sure if I can give her up. The purring on my leg says... maybe not.
Updated 12/25/19
Churro's sister, Souffle/Ophelia was adopted privately during the week, and I was thrilled that she found a VERY loving home. But even as I wrote Churro's bio and prepared her collage, I wasn't sure if I could actually give up Churro and brother Toasty Marshmallow. I've never had an orange kitten before and I was completely charmed by the personalities of these two.
Potential adopters showed up shortly after I arrived, early, at Petsmart to drop them off for adoption. I got to spend almost 2 hours getting to know them, and so many were interested in Churro. I was surprised and pleased when a delightful young man made the responsible decision to wait to adopt- to give himself and his parents more time to determine if they wanted a young kitten or an older, calmer cat. I really hope he does track me down via Facebook to meet my new set of kittens (F, if you read this, please feel free to private message me!) if they decide to go that route.
As he revealed his choice to NOT adopt Churro, a wonderful lady admitted she had almost given up and gone home several times, sure that Churro would be snatched up before she could adopt her. But she was so excited to get her chance to meet Churro in the private adoption room. By the time she emerged, Churro had a new name (Fuzzy Wuzzy) and a new family.

She let me take another picture of Fuzzy Wuzzy with Toasty (and Santa!) before she whisked Fuzzy Wuzzy to her new home. But the best part was getting her Facebook message the following week:
I’d like to let Itsie Bitsie Rescuse and the “mommy” of Churro and Toasty that I LOVE Churro SO MUCH!!! It has only been a week and I cannot imagine not having her... She purrs all the time. Comes running when I call. Snuggles up to me during the day and at sleeps right between Jim and I up against the pillows!!! I’m soooo grateful I got her and she is my Heart. I can’t get anything done for the holidays because I just want to play with her or cuddle her. THANK YOU. THANK YOU!! IBR is just so awesome and so professional!! Highly recommend them!
Thank you DMM, for this wonderful message!!
