My neighbor and his girlfriend got their own apartment and asked me about adopting a kitten. When I first showed them the pictures, they were interested in the distinctive MewMew. But it didn't take much time for Jarvis to charm them with his playful antics.
With their budget in mind, they only planned on one kitten. But shortly after I put Tessa into a little kitten ball and handed her off, they started talking about how they could arranged their budget to adjust to two kittens. Happily, not only did they take another hard look at their budget to adjust as needed, but several other things fell into place to make the finances less of a burden.
Shortly after, they asked me to help them with their new names and bought kitten toys and treats. Tesseract became Blackberry and Jarvis became Cosmo- we found out Blackberry Cosmo was a drink that we plan to enjoy virgin style since none of us drink alcohol.
We got them little collars, which they took to immediately. Blackberry's purple collar stands out so nicely in her floof. Jarvis' black collar blends into to his sleek black fur. They have new tags incoming soon.
Their new parents are waiting mostly patiently for them to get scheduled for surgery so they can be adopted. Mostly..... but their apartment feels so empty without their babies. I can't wait to watch these kittens grow up with this fantastic family!

Mewmew, the most striking kitten in a litter of all black babies, received a lot of attention early on. My fellow foster was interested in her as well as one of my zumba friends. When the kids expressed interest in adopting kittens, they were first interested in Mewmew. But when I let them know she might get adopted by others, they chose Cosmo and Blackberry.
When both other adopters backed out, Mewmew was slated to head to the adoption center to try her luck. But the girl got a new job and they decided they could afford a third kitten, so the kids decided to take Mewmew as well, and they wanted to keep her name!
In the weeks they had to wait until the babies could get fixed and be ready for adoption, we took them over as often as we could for playdates. At first, it was only Blackberry and Cosmo, who settled in very nicely. When Mewmew began joining in, her parents despaired because Mewmew wasn't interested in cuddling with them. She'd hide behind their couch. They were excited if she'd sit close enough to touch her.
We had some fun attempting to batcat with the black babies...
After one of the home visits, a friend of mine was feeling really blue. On the way home, I stopped to deliver some coffee and kitten therapy. It was just Blackberry and Cosmo, but it did the trick! My friend was more cheerful when we left, though their family cat, Dobby, wasn't so sure.
Once they finally got fixed, we noticed that Blackberry was licking at her belly- we had some fun with that!
Finally, adoption day arrived. The first few days continued to fret over Mewmew's distance. but I was confident that she'd get over it quickly. Mewmew is a VERY social kitten. Sure enough, I got this series of pictures from a very thrilled mom.
Update 9/23/20
I got to visit with the babies about a week ago. They seemed to remember me, particularly Blackberry. Mewmew is the house darling- cuddling and loving on her parents regularly. I didn't remember to get any pictures while I was there- I was too busy hugging and kissing them.

These babies lucked out with their new owners. You can tell they rule the roost. They sent me adorable videos, but I'm having difficulties adding them to my site, so just imagine these guys woke up from their naps for a play session.
Update 10/25/20
I love getting updated about these kittens nearly every week! Blackberry and Cosmo are fairly bonded and spend most of their time together- sharing the task of running their household. When mommy and daddy got into an argument, the pair first ran to mommy to demand attention- helping her calm down and relax before turning to daddy to comfort him.
They share their home with 7 year old Emily too. I hear that Emily and Mewmew have a special bond- they like to cuddle in the closet when no one is looking... but as soon as someone goes to take a picture, they'll stroll off and pretend it never happened. Yes, yes, I know that's Blackberry in the picture with Emily.... because there is no evidence of this closet love affair.
Although it looks like a blob at first sight, I love this picture so much. When you zoom in a bit, my favorite is Blackberry's upsidedown mouth in the center.
I've just spent the last 30 minutes trying to share some videos with you- hopefully their parents will email to me.... but Princess Diva Pants, aka Blackberry, is even more diva in her new home than she was here.
Both mommy and daddy were convinced Blackberry was injured for awhile. She'd cry and complain every time they tried to pick her up- they were afraid they were hurting her.
And of course they were- hurting her sense of self-importance. Blackberry just does not want to be moved if she is in cuddle mode, and let's them know she is not done with cuddling.
They also shared that most of the time, Blackberry is just a momma's girl- pretending to be indifferent or just tolerant of daddy. But it recently came to light that Blackberry and daddy had a secret morning routine. Blackberry would feast on an entire squeeze up treat all for herself in the a secret bathroom meeting with daddy-so far her siblings haven't figured it out.
Update 11/8/20
Bonded for life- Blackberry and Cosmo are so happy they were adopted together. Cosmo's fur is so sleek and rich against Blackberry's softer poof.
But don't worry, Blackberry hasn't forgotten her sister Mjolnir also shares their home. Blackberry seems to just eat up all of the attention from her humans and siblings.
Then again, Blackberry just seems to eat up attention and food Look at this kitten fluff!!! I don't think anyone needed to foster or adopt little Princess Diva Pants to know exactly the kind of cat she is... it's easy to see that her royal highness is ready for your loyalty and service just from her photos.
Here she is, ruling from her kitten tower. I just can't get over the extreme floofiness of her tail.... it makes me so happy.
Mjolnir is more active and engaged than the supreme ruler of the home. No hot cheetos were administered in this video, but a small flash of older sister Emma-lee/Emily is at the end.
Rumor has it, they now have a rabbit friend as well, and they all get along. No photos or videos yet, but hopefully soon!!
