This was the easiest litter to name! We picked them up from another foster who bottle fed them until they were ready to wean. She was reluctant to give these babies up, but was battling ringworm with another litter and was struggling to keep them segregated and healthy. As foster mom will do, she buried her own desire to keep these sweethearts so that they could go to a home where they could be more socialized with people and pets. Two nearly identical black kittens and two black and white "cow" kittens... as we drove them home, the husband said "what about Black Panther?" What noble names for these kittens!

Because we picked them up on the way home from dropping Churro up for adoption and adopting Toasty Marshmallow ourselves, their kennel was not ready. They snoozed peacefully in their travel crate while I vacuumed, scrubbed, and sanitized the kennel for them. Because of their possible exposure to ringworm, we were very careful to keep them separate from our house pets (which drove poor Katsu Kurry crazy; she didn't understand why she couldn't have her kittens), but when we finally let them out, Okoye just wasn't sure about us! Her poofy tough cat pose cemented her name as Okoye for me- warrior kitten!

By evening, however, they had realized we were allies and were joyfully vocal in their greetings and demands. Wakanda is NOISY. They are constantly screaming for attention.

These kittens want nothing more than your complete, undivided attention. In return, they give unconditional love. They sprint to us when we approach and follow us wherever we go. If we stay in one place long enough, they'll climb up and love to perch on shoulders or heads.

I spend most of my time with at least one kitten perched on my shoulder. I really should mount some cameras around- it is very hard to get pictures when you're twisted into odd positions trying to see what is on your back/neck/shoulders..

Although I get very little done, I love the way they follow me around and insist on being loved. Every time you approach the kitten room, they come racing, singing the song of their people.

They adored every visitor who came, including grumpy grandpas that "don't like cats". Warning- video has some dad language- watch at your own risk.

After their week of isolation, they were so happy to meet the rest of their temporary fur family. At first, Toasty Marshmallow was wary, but these kittens wore him down with sheer persistence and made him their best friend. Sometimes Toasty will play too rough with them- he's nearly twice their size, but T'Challa will step in and protect his siblings. He often ends up screaming for a little extra help- I guess he forgot his special panther suit to protect him, but after we separate Toasty until he calms down, the kittens will go track him down again.
